FAQ - Summer 2020

Questions about the our virtual season?  Check out the FAQs here!  Still have questions?  Contact us!

How much does the season cost?

We are reducing our membership fee to $25.00 for this season only!  The support that we receive from our wonderful sponsors and volunteers allows us to give back to you!

What is the Second Sole discount?

Second Sole in Gahanna has been our loyal partner since CERC began in 2010.  All members receive a 20% discount on your in-store purchases.  This is the best discount in town and will allow you to recoup the $25 membership fee with just one shoe purchase!  Second Sole also does phone orders with free delivery and curb side pickup!

Do the virtual races cost extra?

No!  Your $25 registration fee automatically registers you for all 6 virtual races!

What are the distances of the races?

Our series starts at 1 mile and gradually increases to a half marathon on October 18, 2020.  If the longer distances aren’t for you, don’t worry because you can run a shorter distance and report that race time.  For example, at the 10k distance, you will also be given the option to run a 5k as well.  Your choice!

Do I get a shirt and medal?

Yes!  All participants will receive a season shirt as well as one medal for the entire races series.  Register by June 1 to guarantee your shirt!  When they are ready, they will be available for pickup at Second Sole.  Medals will be available at the end of the season

How do the door prizes work?

After each race you complete, you will be entered into a random drawing for door prizes.  We are giving away over $1,000 in prizes over the course of our 6 race series so you will want to participate in as many as you can!

How do I report my race times?

Before each scheduled race, you will receive instructions via the CERC Newsletter.  Complete your race during the weekend of each event and report your time.  Instructions and deadlines will be sent for each race.

How does the OSU Sports Medicine education series work?

Experts from OSU Sports Medicine will join us monthly via Zoom to present a virtual race series.  The link will be sent to you via email, just log in from home and learn from the best Sports Medicine team around!

How do the weekly coaching sessions work?

Your CERC coaches will be available every Tuesday from 6:30-7:30 pm beginning May 19 via Zoom for any questions you may have!  Log in to check in, ask questions, chat, whatever you may need!

What if I am not able to use Zoom or attend the online sessions at the scheduled time?

Our OSU Sports Medicine sessions will be recorded and available via YouTube after each event.  All CERC coaches are available via email if you are not able to make it to a Zoom session.

Will we be able to have group runs?

CERC board members will continue to monitor the latest news with COVID-19.  If current restrictions are lifted and we feel that it is safe to resume, we will begin holding our regular Saturday morning group runs at no additional cost.  We will continue to hold all virtual races whether we are together or apart.
